Coiled Rope Bowl Gallery

  • I handcraft coil roped bowls with the highest quality materials.  100% Solid Strand rope. They can hold any number of items you need to gather! Rings, phones, keys, trinkets, anything!
  • I construct these bowls using custom woven, 3/16", 100% cotton solid braid rope that is made by an American manufacturer. This cotton solid braid is a very sturdy rope. This rope is not TWISTED- it is BRAIDED. This makes a much denser and sturdier rope! Not twisted rope, poly cotton or polyester cored clothesline rope.
  • The thread is 50 WT, high end Aurifil or Cairo Quilt 100% cotton thread. It is a high quality Egyptian long-staple cotton thread. This means the thread is made with longer cotton fibers, allowing for a stronger and more durable thread. They are sewn in a spiral shape with a zig-zag stitch on the sewing machine.
  • Some Bowls I have appled textile/fabric paint that is applied before sewing the rope to achieve bright, colorful stripes, or bowl rim edges on some baskets. .
